If you hold an old apple device and this news is for you. Starting December, next month Apple will stop supporting these devices. Also there will not be any security and software updates for them.
However Apple does keep an image of supporting its devices longer than anyone but on December 8, 2015, the products listed below will be classified as either vintage or obsolete in Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Japan, Latin America, the United States, and Apple Retail Stores.
The list of hardware onboarding the obsolete list are below:
- iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009)
- iMac (27-inch, Late 2009)
- MacBook Air (Mid 2009)
- Mac Pro (Early 2009)
- MacBook (13-inch, Early 2008)
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2009)
- Apple Cinema Display (23-inch, DVI Early 2007)
- Time Capsule 802.11n (1st Generation)
- iPod touch (1st generation)
In some countries these products will be considered as vintage due to law enforcements. Along with the Apple Devices there are some beat services which will also join the group. Like iBeats, Beatbox, Beatbox Portable (1st generation), Wireless (1st generation), Diddybeats and Heartbeats (1st generation).
So if you have any of those devices then please check with the Apple’s service center as the facility will not be available after 8th December.
