Apple may be greeting the next iPhone with Intel powered chip. As per the news coming from Venturebeat, Intel has assigned 1000 engineers to work for the new Apple Chip. Though the news is not yet official but rumors are floating that word of mouth has been exchanged and soon an official statement will be made.

Apple’s next year iPhone could have Intel’s next-gen 7360 LTE modem chip. Currently Qualcomm’s 9X45 LTE is the main modem chip for Apple’s iPhone devices. We can also expect the dual models iPhone running Intel or Qualcomm Chips like we are seeing with current A9 chip coming with TSMC and Samsung variants.

Intel has recently bought the CDMA modem assets of Via Telecom. Intel aims to use the technology to add CDMA network connectivity to its LTE modems. In Chinese market the CDMA technology is still in great demand and Intel wants to make best of this opportunity. Carriers like China Telecom use a combination of LTE and CDMA technology in their networks which is also one the world biggest telecom provider.

Apple has a great base in the mobile industry and is well known for its premium devices, however Intel has huge success in desktop and server computing but yet to make a mark on the Mobile Sector. If the partnership becomes official it can open many gates for both the companies to excel and expand their marketplaces. It will surely be a big opportunity for Intel to compete with Qualcomm.

So let’s wait and watch for an official partnership announcement. We will keep you updated.
