With an immense success of Redmi Series, Xiaomi is launching an enhanced version of “Redmi 2A”. It is expected to make a presence in China in couple of days. The new Redmi 2A will have improved hardware with similar low-price offering, speculated to be around $80.
Comparing it to its predecessor, the new Redmi 2A will have 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal space. Other hardware specifications remain unchanged from the regular Redmi 2A. The phone features a 4.7-inch 720p display, a Leadcore LC1860 quad-core SoC, an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front facing shooter, dual-SIM card slots, and a 2,200mAh battery. Xiaomi’s Lei Jun has previously said that these specifications are the minimum required to give the best user experience.
Xiaomi has been able to attract many users with its cost affective smartphone which has a good feel along with some great hardware specs in bucket. Without a doubt the Redmi series is one of the most popular line-up from Xiaomi. However, the rumor says that company will not be able to achieve its target sales even after selling 10 million units, thanks to the tough Indian Smart Phone Market and they don’t have any plans to expand it some of the global markets.
The newer enhanced Redmi 2A will be going on sale on November 11th in China. The handset will hopefully appear in other regions in the coming months too.
