Samsung Pay is been out for some time now and company is started to see it as great success in deed. Samsung has planning to even enhance the support for financial institution which will offer many benefits. For example allow users to use gift cards for payment. Currently Samsung Pay only works with selected flagship but the Korean giant is not ruling out the possibility for opening the gates for a larger audience and have plans to make it available for other smartphone manufactures.
This news was revealed by Injong Rhee, executive vice president and head of enterprise business at Samsung’s mobile division. In his recent interview he revealed many interesting information about the company’s payment service. Rhee claimed that company’s main idea is not replacing your wallet, however it’s about replacing all the credit cards you have on your wallet. He also mentioned that the Magnetic Secure Transmission technology which the backbone of Samsung Pay will soon be brought over to non-flagship devices in the future. Samsung recently reported that they now have one million subscribers and transaction volumes have hit $88 million in just one month period.
A question was asked about making this service available for non-Samsung devices and he said that it under consideration but company hasn’t started working on it yet. He further said that Samsung is currently focusing on deployment, but this small indication can be a good news for all the smartphone owner who want to try the Magnetic Secure Transmission technology and get rid of the credit cards which they keep on their wallet.
Without a doubt Samsung pay has much reachability compared to Android Pay and Apple Pay. Lets hope that Samsung will declare some official support for other devices and benefit many.
