Microsoft has been testing their new business communication app Skype for Business (previously known by Lync) but finally they are making it available for the Android community. The app has major UI enhancements and comes with some great features over its predecessor.

Here are some of the notable features which may drive you to adopt the new app.

  • You can now initiate a group IM or video conversation and can also invite additional participants.
  • The new app will allow you to share videos and can let you view speaker’s video during a conference call.
  • App also allows to control the meeting settings like mute a participant or can even remove attendees).
  • Now you can join, rejoin and initiate a Skype for Business Meeting to communicate and collaborate.
  • App gives you notifications for your upcoming meetings and allows you to join via one click.
  • You can even search through your recent conversations and continue on it from where you left.
  • New app can let you search your contacts by name, email, or phone number

Apart from the notable features, Microsoft has also given some liberty to the IT Admins to configure and tweak the log on methods. Skype for business now supports multi-factor authentication.

Microsoft is giving this update for free for all the Lync 2013 users. They can head over to the Play Store and can download their copy.
